Sixth Form Mindset (VESPA)

In the 6th form we work on developing a mindset that will help students to succeed on their courses.

This has followed the VESPA model, which suggests that successful A-Level students have the following characteristics, and that these can be taught and learned:

  • Vision: A successful sixth form student will know what they want to achieve.

  • Effort: A successful sixth form student will be doing around 20 hours of independent study a week

  • Systems: A successful sixth form student will be able to organise their time and their learning

  • Practice: A successful sixth form student will do a range of revision and independent work activities to practice their skills

  • Attitude: A successful sixth form student will respond to failure in a constructive way
