Retreats at Cardinal Pole Catholic School

Students have a wide range of various opportunities to “retreat” throughout their time here at Cardinal Pole. This allows the students to have time away from the busy schedule of school life to pray, reflect, spend time with others and deepen their own Faith. Our retreat programme offers the following themes:

Year 7 – “One Body, Many Parts” (October)

Year 8 – “Finding God in Nature” (June)

Year 9 – “I want to know what love is” (February)

Year 10 – “Who’s Christ to me?” (May)

Year 11 – “Living out your Faith” (November)

Sixth Form – “Inspiring Youth Leaders” (September)

Each retreat is either led in School or the local Parish of The Immaculate Heart of Mary and St Dominic’s. The Sixth Form Student Leadership team assist with the planning and running of the retreats in small groups from Year 7 to Year 10.

Year 7 & 8 Liturgical Representatives were lucky enough to experience a Pilgrimage to Wintershall in December 2019, to watch and partake in the Christmas Story. A total of 15 students attended the day with a number of other Secondary and Primary school students.

Flame is a National Catholic event which brings 10,000 young people from across the country together for a day of talks, reflection and worship. It takes place at Wembley Arena and Cardinal Pole attends with the Westminster Youth Ministry. 15 Students went to the 2019 Flame event and the next one is scheduled for March 2023.
