Advent

Advent is one of the most important and special times of the liturgical calendar for us as a Catholic school. During three of the weeks, we will join Christians all over the world in preparing for the birth of the child Jesus. Alongside the more traditional, we will dedicate time to thinking about, praying for and practically helping those who need our support most.

Annual Carol Concert

Every year all year 7 students celebrate Christmas by participating in a Carol Service at our local parish. Parents are invited to the service to share in our joy as a community of faith.

Carol Fundraising

Cardinal Pole students are invited to sing carols in our local community every year. Last year we sang outside our local Tesco supermarket and received a very warm reception from the public.

Advent Calendar

Each year students of Year 7 and 8 are given a challenge to complete a good deeds Advent Calendar, At the end of the advent season in school, each form tutor picks one star student who performed good deeds to the best of their ability throughout the month to win a prize.

Christmas Assemblies and Liturgy

Assemblies during advent focus on preparing our hearts to welcome Jesus on Christmas day. Cardinal Pole keeps the tradition of lighting the Advent Wreath, each candle represents the four weeks of Advent whose progressive lighting express the expectation and hope surrounding the coming of Jesus on Christmas day. The Advent period in school finishes off with a Christmas liturgy on the last day of term.

Advent Charity Drives

In this holy season it is important to remember those who are less fortunate than us, therefore fundraise and have various charity drives in all year groups.
