Support in the Sixth Form
Support that students can expect to receive and access in Cardinal Pole's Sixth Form include:
- Dedicated pastoral team including Form Tutors, Head of Sixth Form/Head of Year, and a Pastoral Support Manager who provide regular check-ins, academic monitoring, wellbeing support, and liaison with families when needed.
- Emotional, mental health and spiritual support, with full-time counselling services from A-SPACE, a full-time CAMHS support worker, and an on-site Chaplain available for pastoral care, guidance and reflection within the Catholic ethos.
- Expert guidance for next steps after Sixth Form, including personalised support with UCAS, Student Finance, apprenticeships and school-leaver programmes, supported by specialist platforms such as Unifrog.
- Preparation for competitive pathways, including support for admissions tests (BMAT, UCAT, LNAT), mock interviews, and mentoring from industry professionals and university undergraduate students.
- Extensive careers, work experience and enrichment opportunities, including placements with leading organisations and paid internships through partnerships with charities such as Into University and The Brokerage.
- Strong focus on personal development and community, through regular progress reviews, daily tutor time, retreats and reflection opportunities, and a values-led approach that promotes belonging, respect and holistic student growth.
