Feast Weeks in School

To honour our 5 school saints, we as a school have an enthusiastic tradition of observing a week of celebrations for each saint throughout the year.

The week consist of saint themed activities and end with the celebration of Mass for the respective year group and a feast of food and both staff and students!

St Francis Feast Week

Students learnt about St Francis and the Franciscan Friars they also created art work inspired by his life in RE.

Students received a St Francis ‘God’s Hand in Nature’ themed poetry lesson allowed by a competition; the winners won St Francis themed prizes.

Fr Antonio and Br John the Baptist from the community of the ‘Franciscan Friars of the Renewal’ visited the school to lead Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with all students in Years 7-10 and Sixth Form.

They also spend time in the playground playing table tennis with our students!

Our week finished as usual with Mass and cupcakes for all our year 9 students and also cake for all our staff.

St Josephine Bakhita Feast Week

The whole school celebrated the life of St Josephine Bakhita in prayer throughout the week.

A guest speaker Minet from one of the school charities 'Caritas' gave a talk to the year 8 cohort on the work of Bakhita House in helping victims of modern day slavery and human trafficking.

A small group of our Y8 Caritas Ambassadors met Minet after the talk and shared the charity work they had done so far this year.

Year 10 celebrated a feast day Mass for St Joesphine Bakhita followed by cupcakes.

The staff ended the week of celebration with delicious cakes!
