Cardinal Pole’s Partnerships

Partners in Charity
At Cardinal Pole we want all of our pupils to believe in themselves, to have ambition, to contribute to our community and to feel confident about their place in modern life.

As a school with a religious determination we have a strong belief in caring for those in need.  Many of our pupils volunteer to take part in the our annual Ten Bridges Charity Walk to raise money for St Joseph’s Hospice and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.  Our pupils also raise money for our partner Jesuit school in Peru as well as many other national charities.

Partners in Enterprise
Cardinal Pole’s proximity to the City of London has enabled us to develop close links with a number of International institutions such as HSBC Insurance, Clifford Chance, Linklaters, L’Occitane and Freshfields.

These links enable us to provide vibrant business mentoring schemes, work experience placements, internships and financial awareness courses.

HSBC Insurance volunteers have been working closely with our year 7 pupils on reading programmes and have tutored our Sixth Form students in ICT related projects.

The Hackney Schools’ Mentoring Programme (HSMP) has been matching Year 10 students from Cardinal Pole to city business mentors for over 12 years.  Since 2005 the school has been partnered with mentors from the Macquarie Group based in Moorgate.  On average 50 students each year travel after school once a fortnight to visit their mentors.  Students are encouraged to sign up to the programme at the end of Year 9.
